Double Center Pleat Relaxed Roman

A double relaxed Roman tends to be pretty flat at the bottom, so center pleats are sometimes added to give more fullness and create a more graceful droop.
The fabric should look familiar- we made cafe curtains out of it in the spring.
The double center pleat relaxed Roman that this client liked
I love how the a new pattern was created out of the larger pattern when the fabric was pin-tucked

The chenille flowers are bulky, making it tricky to join the widths.

The center pleats are pretty cool!

  1. Hi Deb,
I am a member of the CHF forum and I actually had a customer bring me a picture of the double center pleat shade above. I am working on one with a 100" BW. I was going to put 4" in each pleat hoping to achieve a similar look as the one you have above. Do you recall how many inches you put in each pleat?

  2. Hi Kathleen- Hopefully by now you've seen my response on the forum..... I believe that I put something between 3" and 4" in each pleat.

  3. These turned out perfect - with the pattern matching at the seam and the center pleats. I was googling images of relaxed romans and this came up! (I'm on the forum too.) Vanessa Downs
