What to do with a big round window?.....

Pick out a cool fabric and stretch it on a frame.

Also two small flat kick pleat valances, and a pair of top tack cafe curtains for the big window.
Are you wondering about the amazing brown pleated fabric in the background?  More on that in the next post.

  1. I like this so much better than the fans you usually see.

  2. The decorator originally ordered a "sunburst" with a center rosette, but this pleated fabric just didn't lend itself to that- it's already pleated to nearly triple fullness and there was no way to do shirring that would look nice. So they agreed to this simple solution which to me is perfect with this fabric.

  3. What kind of frame did you use??

  4. The frame is 1/2" plywood circle with the center cut out, leaving 2" around. Lining was stretched from back to front, with little pleats to remove the fullness, and stapled to the 1/2" inside face. The face fabric was stapled to the back near the edge and the raw edges covered in gimp.
