Today I got the chance to go see some of our recent work, installed.

Flat panels with rings; Roman shades.  All is lined with blackout to reduce light bleed from embroidery.

Drool

The valance is slightly curved to follow the arc above it.

 

Ribbed shades strung with JK mesh tube cord shroud.  The rings are sewn on and the cord and shroud fed through the rings. Then the mesh is secured to the ring with a clear miniature tie wrap, clipped short.  

The flat panels have 10 rings per width, spaced about 5" apart, for a casual, ripply look.

 

Stitched channels keep the drapery hooks in place.

Sheer Hobbled Shade

Definitely a fab fabric.

It became a hobbled shade, sheer, unlined.

Since it was a reverse mount, I could not easily find a way to photograph the front.  But the back is more interesting, anyhow.  It uses translucent twill tape from Rowley to create the hobbles; TechStyles' cord shroud was joined to the twill tape; then the clear rings were sewn over both to secure.

The shade width was 61", and the fabric was 58" wide.  The widths were joined and serged, and wide, double 2" hems pressed in, completely covering the seams.  The hem was hand- blind-stitched, catching the serged seam, so no hand stitches show on the fronts.

Linen shades

These are linen shades, lined in a khaki poly voile, with clear ribs inserted into  Rowley's translucent rib tape. 
A 2" woven braid borders 3 sides.
The lift system is the traditional Rollease clutch with a beautiful soft grey bead chain loop that disappears against the grey molding.
Tan lift cord is shrouded with TechStyles cord shroud in maple.
Though the rib tape has loops that are meant to be used instead of rings, the shades did not lift well using them, so we backtracked and sewed clear rings and re-strung the shades.

Remember this job?  These ten gorgeous panels were taken down today so I could sew the rings on.  The drapery hooks kept falling out of the rings.  Yay, now I have some sewing to do during the Jets game on Sunday!
